Applied Behavioral Interventions provides Behavior Analyst services for adults with developmental and psychiatric disorders in Middle Tennessee.
Currently, we are contracted with the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for the state of Tennessee. This is part of the Medicaid Waiver program.

ABI’s Behavior Analysts job consists of, but is not limited to:
Functions:
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Welfare of Service Recipients
- Recommend supports and develop strategies, as needed, to reduce and/or replace behaviors that are harmful to service recipient and others or that interfere with inclusion in community life
- Conduct assessments annually or as needed
- Develop behavior support/maintenance plans and evaluate and revise plans annually, or as needed
- Work collaboratively with Service Coordinator to obtain funding for behavior services for service recipient based on his/her needs
- Recommend outcomes and action steps that improve the service recipient’s adaptive repertoire
- Work collaboratively with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, nutritionists, etc to provide a comprehensive plan of care for the service recipient
- Attend Psychiatric appointments and attend medical appointments if pertinent, or ensure a designee is present on days when attendance is prohibited
- Participate in treatment/support planning meetings associated with a service recipient as needed
- Obtain informed consent from service recipient (if legally competent) or his/her legally appointed representative for all restrictive behavioral interventions
- Ensure all interventions are approved and that restrictive interventions are reviewed by Human Rights Committee and by Behavior Support Committee
- Records, Reports, and Documentation
- Submit Clinical Services Monthly Reports to Service Coordinator and Director by the 15th of each month
- Submit Behavior Services Assessment Report and/or Behavior Support Plan to the Director prior to implementation of the plan
- Supervision
- Train direct support staff to carry out behavior support plans
- Observe staff and service recipient for correct implementation of the behavior support plan and complete retraining as needed
- Observe service recipient to determine effectiveness of the behavior support plan
- Provide assistance by phone or on-site, as needed, in a crisis situation
- Provide feedback to staff regarding implementation of the behavior support plan
- Team Participation
- Work collaboratively with team of behavior analysts to develop behavior support plans
- Work collaboratively with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, nutritionists, etc

- Perform all job functions in a manner that exemplifies ABI’s mission and philosophy of service delivery and complies with all ABI Policy and Procedures
- Participate in any ABI staff meetings, plan development, and other meetings as required
- Complete reports, assignments, and other functions as requested by Senior Management
Aptitudes/Qualifications:
- Minimum of Masters degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, or related field
- BACB certification or in the process of becoming certified)
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)
- Experience in providing services to people with disabilities and behavioral/psychiatric disorders
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to teach behavioral principles to direct care staff
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
Travel:
- Some travel is required in the middle Tennessee area. A mileage reimbursement will be provided
Full Time Position Hours:
- 40+ hours/week; flex schedule
